Ms. Pat fans won’t have to wait much longer for the fifth season of The Ms. Pat Show.
BET+ announced that the Emmy-nominated comedy will return to the streaming service with a new season in January.
Starring Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams-Lee, J. Bernard Calloway, Tami Roman, Vince Swann, Briayna Guadalupe and Theodore John Barnes, the series is known for covering all types of hardcore and hot-button topics, such as abortion, sexual abuse, family dysfunction and drug addiction.
The new season continues the R-rated sitcom’s trend of going further than other sitcoms. According to BET+, “[T]he multi-dimensional Carson family tackles topics including scars left by absent parents, scars created by present parents, and following your dreams through all of it. In their wildest, most uproarious season yet, the Carsons discover that the only constant is change.”
The series also stars Brittany Inge in a recurring role, and guest stars include Raven-Symoné (who has also directed on the series), Tisha Campbell, Tristan “Mack” Wilds, Omeretta, Sandra Caldwell, Loretta Devine, and singing group SWV.
Williams-Lee and Jordan E. Cooper serve as creators and executive producers. Lee Daniels also executive produces with Rose-Catherine Pinkney, Brian Grazer, Deb Evans, Patrick Walsh, Jon Radler, Natalie Berkus and Mary Lou Belli. Walsh also serves as creative producer. Jon DeWalt and Allison Bosma co-executive produce.
